SWiFT UI Case STUDY

started learning Swift UI shortly before the pandemic. After switching from Framer JS to Framer, I realized that many of the concepts in Framer were similar to SwiftUI. I also became frustrated with the limitations of other prototyping tools like Principle, Protopie, and Invision. These tools required a lot of time to create prototypes, and much of the experience had to be recreated. SwiftUI seemed like a natural solution, although there were some caveats.

To showcase my growth, I created a case study for an audiobook app that demonstrates my knowledge of utilizing stacks, lazy grids, .fullscreenCover, @State variables, and customizing bottom navigation that transitions through key navigation areas. This use case is a work in progress, and I plan to update it as I add more features.

Visual design of the app

The UI design for the audio book app is kept simple by using standard mobile patterns. The key to making the design unique is through the bespoke book cover art which is utilized throughout the app. To achieve this, I used a combination of found images for collages, Procreate on iPad, and Figma to create all the book covers. To add an extra level of delight to the user experience, the cover art's colors influence the UI as books are accessed, with each cover's color palette being incorporated into the design.
